Wire cut edm machine drive mode for worktable

wire edm machines are a type of machining tool used to cut intricate shapes and patterns into metal parts. They are capable of producing highly precise and accurate cuts, making them ideal for a variety of applications. However, in order to get the best performance out of a wire edm machine, it is important to understand the different worktable drive modes and how they can affect the machine’s performance.

The first drive mode is the servo motor drive mode. This worktable X,Y,U,V axis are installed with servo motor,which working principle is to control speed and direction of motor by feedback signal.
the servo motors will adjust the rotate speed and direction when the feedback signal pulse changes to control the wire cut edm machine.The voltage of AC servo motor is more than 220V,  rated speed within 2000 to 3000r/min mode is used when cutting thin materials, as it provides a steady current to the wire, allowing for consistent cutting.

The second drive mode is reactive stepping motor drive mode. which type is 95BF006 or 75BF003,the maximum rotate speed is 300 to 600r/min, so the moving speed of wire cut machine worktable is lower, This mode is used when cutting workpiece with low precision , as it drives the screw operation by the carrier gears that torlerance is worse than the servo motor driving direct,allow for cutting the general workpiece . This step motor of wire cut edm machine mode is also useful for cutting materials with a low electrical resistance, as it helps to reduce the amount of heat generated during the cutting process.

The third drive mode is the subdivided stepping motor,the rotating speed is more than general step motors. This mode accuracy is btween the servo motor and stepping motor,the worktable moving rate will be higher than step motor when empty moving without operation,the subdivided step motor is rotating more steadily,but the cost of servo motors are reducing in recent years,this kind of mode is used less.
